Unable to add certain locations to my list in Weather app

When searching for cities in the Weather app, some locations do not have an "Add" button to add them to my list, while others do. Here's an example of a city that doesn't allow me to add it:

Other locations do allow me to add them:

I've tried rebooting, and uninstalling and reinstalling the Weather app, but neither has worked.

Running an iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18.5. I've run into a couple of other posts about this, but none has offered a solution that worked. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's driving me crazy.

Are you sure you don't already have Reno in your list of locations? I know that sounds too obvious, but I see the Add button for Reno, but any location I search that is currently in my list does not show the Add button. Deleting the app should have also removed any data associated with the app, but that would not be the case if the app was "Offloaded"

The only other recommendation I have would be a Force Restart that may clear some corrupted cache files. It may take a couple of attempts to get the speed and sequence of the key presses correct.

  • Press and quickly release Volume Up
  • Press and quickly release Volume Down
  • Press and HOLD side button until the Apple logo appears. It may take up to 15 seconds to see the Apple Logo and you want to ignore anything else you see on the screen. If you do not see the Apple Logo, try again.
