iPhone Alarm Fails to Wake Me — It’s Damaging My Life
I’m currently using an iPhone 14 Plus and have repeatedly had issues with the default alarm clock app:
- The alarm turns off automatically after ~15 minutes if not snoozed or stopped, even when I haven’t woken up.
- Alarm volume is weak, despite being set to maximum.
- The ability to make the alarm persist until manually dismissed.
I've gone through every setting — the ringer and alert volume are at max, Face ID's "attention aware" features are off, and no Focus modes are active. Still, the alarm doesn’t reliably wake me up. Cheaper Android phones give users the power to make their alarms as loud, long, and persistent as they need them to be. This issue is not just an inconvenience — missing alarms has had and continues to have serious consequences in my daily life. I’ve been late to critical appointments, lost opportunities, and suffered real emotional and financial damage simply because my iPhone alarm failed to perform its most basic task: wake me up.
Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly, is there any way to override the system volume limitations, let alarms ring longer until dismissed, or make the alarm behavior more persistent and user-controllable?
