How do I stop the iPad pro from asking me to update everytime the screen turns off and on?

How do I stop iPad pro from sending me update notifications? I don't want to hear why I should update, it is my machine that I paid alot of money for, I want to use it my way. The iPad pro is a useless waste of money! It promises all the latestest technology and then stops you from using any of it. No XCode, no user accounts (well there are but they wont allow you to use that feature), no ability to use any full fledged graphic design software. Basically a thousand dollar Netflix screen. I do not want updates, another update for like 8 emojies and more restrictions hidden as 'security'. If the ability to use these features are 'insecure', then logically they are saying that their macbook lines are insecurre and easily hackable, bla, bla, bla. All I want to do is use what little I can use the ipad for in peace, asking me to update every single time the screen turns off and on is just far too much. The badgering in the past has already pushed me past a jailbreakable os, it might take years to find the next workaround, but I want my iPad to stay the same until it does. Can someone please tell me how I can turn off iPad update notifications

iPad Pro, iPadOS 18

Hello Helloworldie,

Unfortunately, there is no straight forward way to disable update notifications. You’ll need to head to Settings> General> Software Update> Automatic Updates> disable Automatically Install and Automatically Download.

This should stop the notifications from coming. If you continue getting notifications, it may be because an update has been downloaded and needs to be deleted or installed (whichever you prefer). Head to Settings> General> Storage> find the update in the list and tap on it> tap delete.

Sincerely,

Captain
