iPhone 7 Plus prompting to reinsert SIM card with old number after porting to new service

Re: iPhone 7 Plus. I was using a provider and I found a cheaper service, so I ported the number to the new service and put in a new sim card. I had to put in their APN on the phone. Now everything is working except, I keep getting notifications that I need to reinsert the sim card with my old number in order to use iMessaging and FaceTime. I have changed the my number setting to my phone number and only have that enabled and not my email address. That number was also used for my trusted setting and I removed that. I have made sure the account is showing the correct number and it is. I have contacted the service provider and they said everything is right on their end, because it is working. I have repeatedly reset the network settings. I have looked and looked on the phone to see if my other number is somewhere in the phone but to no avail. Anybody have any ideas?

They suggested turning off the notification but I don't know how to do that and I believe it would stop the 2 factor identification from showing also, Maybe?

I don't understand what you are saying. it is not locked and I have reset the settings on the phone, but I have not done a factory reset. and I am not going to. I don't use iCloud. From the getgo, I inserted the sim card, did all the network settings as you have to manually set them with this carrier, and it came up with the error message. I shut down the phone, took out the sim card, restarted phone, reset the network settings, shut down the phone and reinserted the sim card, started the phone, put in the network settings again. Still getting the notification message. At least it quit coming up every time I picked up the phone. But on the notification screen it is coming up. this was done all previously before I posted on here.
