I went to the Epson site and downloaded drivers for Mac 15.x I still cannot complete a scan, also I will get a message overview has timed out. I hate to trash this awesome scanner. My Mac Mini is running Sequoia 15.5 and I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022. I had no problems until I upgraded to Sequoia 15.5.

When you install the Epson Scanner driver(s) you need to install BOTH the regular Scanner Driver & Epson Scan Utiity AND the ICA Scanner Driver for Image Capture. They are separate installers.
Image Capture and many other apps (perhaps even Photoshop) use the ICA driver, not the "regular" Epson driver.
The reason Vuescan works is because Hamrick has done an outstanding job reverse-engineering drivers in order to work with many scanners without needing the vendor's driver. Also, regarding Vuescan, exactly what file formats do you need that Vuescan doesn't handle? Vuescan supports PDF, TIFF, JPEG and Vuescan RAW. In fact, in a recent release they even added support for "1200+" DSLR RAW formats for people who are using DSLRs to "scan" slides & negatives.
Also, I recall some timeout issues with Epson scanner drivers soon after Seqoia was released. It was solved by giving Full Disk Access to an obscurely named Epson driver component. I'll try to find one of those threads (here in the Apple Communities) that identifies the component and report back.
What do you mean you need it to work with Photoshop? If is will scan and save to the Desktop it'll work with any app you have.

That scanner is 16 years old so if you can get VueScsn to work with it you're in luck.
Exactly what are the features of your V600 that you want to maintain?
I tried VueScan... it worked! However, I need it to work with PhotoShop and I need more file formats... I have about 1,200 photos to scan and 70 documents. I guess I could buy it and use it until Epson comes up with drivers for My Epson v600 to work with Sequoia 15.5 Thanks for your suggestions.
Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.
NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

VueScan Professional only supports the Epson V500/V600 with compatible Epson drivers installed. This may be the Epson ICA (for image capture) drivers, or both drivers. VueScan Professional supports the v700 and later Epson scanners without any Epson drivers installed.
Unfortunately printer/scanner manufacturers do not really get any revenue apart from customer goodwill from keep supporting older models years after they put newer models out on the market, so you may not wish to hold your breath waiting for Epson to get around to making macos15.5 drivers for an older model.
Yup... I tried it and it doesn't work... I'm getting scan canceled or overview timed out. I've uninstalled scanner software and drivers and reinstalled the most recent drivers (2025). Turned the computer on and off. I was using PhotoShop Elements to scan, so I tried Mac Image Capture.. neither work.
Just went to Epson for about the 100th time to look for updated drivers... Here is where I found that 15.x. https://epson.com/Support/Scanners/Perfection-Series/Epson-Perfection-V600-Photo/s/SPT_B11B198011 Everything worded until I upgraded to Sequoia 15.5 This scanner still holds one of the highest ratings and can sell for $300. I scan negatives and slides so Epson's latest and greatest is like $1,500. I've got a bunch of things needing scanning... I'm giving VueScan a try.
I tried Image Capture but I get the same results... Scan cannot be completed or Overview timed out.
