iphone 16 pro max getting scratched in just few days after removing protective glass

I bought screen protecting glass and there were no problems for months bewhore i finally took off it off, and after couple days the screen had really annoying scratch marked on it without even been dropped on the ground. And does anyone know if this is covered by the temporary insurance that you get with the new phone.

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18

Cosmetic damages are not covered by the warranty or insurance. And the 16 series have the highest scratch resistance available. I have never used a screen protector on any of the iPhones I have used since the first in 2007, and I have never had any scratches on any screen. Including my current iPhone 16 Pro. If the screen has scratches, someone scratched it, perhaps by carrying it in a pocket with keys or other abrasives.

It sounds like the screen protector was doing a good job, so why did you remove something which was working? Lawrence is correct, however. There is no warranty for cosmetic damage. Unlike Lawrence, however, I wouldn't have an iPhone without a screen protector. They're inexpensive, they provide additional protection, including absorbing the energy of a drop, so the screen protector may be damaged, but the screen below will likely be just fine.

I know we’ve had this discussion already, but on my end, I’ll add I wouldn't have an iPhone without a screen protector or without a camera lens protector.

Not too long ago I was trying to take pictures, and the photos appeared smudged so naturally I went to clean the lens. Guess what. The protector was shattered. And I had (and still don’t have) a clue how it happened, since I didn’t even drop the phone. Must’ve bumped it somewhere I guess.

I hate to think what would’ve happened if I didn’t have that protector. This is probably the third lens protector I’ve smashed over the years, which is $280 saved in camera replacements.
