For months, whenever I open a document, or even a website like this one, on my MacBook Air (Sequoia 10.5) a bright green banner appears at the top of the page and whatever I type is in there. It is ugly and annoying as it covers the system information. I've asked Mac specialists and they say I can't get rid of it, but I don't believe them. Need any help anyone has to offer! Thanks.

Try, going to System Settings ➜ Accessibility ➜ Hover Text, and make sure Hover Typing is turned off.
You can try taking a screen shot by pressing the cmnd+3 keys on your keyboard.
The fact is green, is kind of odd though.

What does this banner say exactly?
Can you offer a screenshot of the banner?
It will help in diagnosing the issue.
Redact any personal info in the image.
I sent a reply... posted it, but now I don't see it. This bright green banner just picks up whatever I'm trying. I can make it go away if I click outside the box, but it comes back again when I start typing again. I can't take a screen shot because it goes away as soon as I try to do that. It almost looks like a help for visually challenged people. To me, it reminds me of a ticker tape without the click-click.
That green banner is not the one. This is solid green until I start typing.
