Be aware that replacing the battery will result in a full reset of the iPad, erasing all locally stored data and installed Apps. While data can be restored from a backup, you need to consider that compatible Apps for your iPad2 are no longer available for download - as App Developers have dropped all support for 32-bit devices. As older versions of Apps are removed from the Apple App Store, you’ll not be able to (re)download or install them - which may severely limit the usefulness and utility of your iPad.

As such, you would be ill advised to spend any money whatsoever on the iPad2 - and instead put this money towards a much newer or current model iPad for which Apps are available and supported.

No matter how much the battery costs, you will be paying more for the battery than a fully functional iPad 2 is worth.
