Dolby Atmos not working on Netflix with Apple 4K box

Since last update I do not get Dolby atmos on Netflix on,y apple 4k box Other streaming services are fine. I can use my lg app for Netflix and it works there.

Can we assume you are paying the top tier Netflix subscription? The top tier is the only tier that supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. All other levels are limited to 4K and 5.1.


Even at that level there is some content that doesn’t support Dolby Vision, HDR10, and Dolby Atmos though is advertised as being supported.

Then I only have three suggestions.


  1. Remove power from the Apple TV 4K and wait for a few minutes, plug it back in and test.
  2. Completely reset the Apple TV 4K to factory defaults. Your apps should redownload and you will have to log back in to all your subscriptions. I had to do this as a last resort to solve a nagging problem with my Library movies not playing.
  3. Make sure your settings are set up correctly and test.


For what it's worth my Apple TV 4K (3rd gen) is running tvOS 18.5 and all is well with Netflix.
