iPhone 15 shows charging icon when not plugged in and loses charge on MagSafe overnight

My iPhone 15 has developed a charging issue. It is on a MagSafe charger overnight, but instead of charging, it steadily loses charge. It also does not seem to "know" when it is charging and when it isn't. Currently, it's not connected to any charger, but the charging icon, represented by a lightning bolt, remains visible.

I have restarted it to no effect. Then I did a complete phone reset. That seemed to help it charge instead of discharging. However, the erroneous charging icon indicates something is still wrong.

Any suggestions other than an Apple Store appointment?

Restart the iPhone. Sometimes it helps to restore normal charging operation. You need to hold down the power button and the volume button at the same time until the screen appears with the off slider, then slide the slider to turn off the iPhone, and after a few seconds turn it on again.

Clear the charging connector. You can use a soft brush or compressed air to do this, but be careful not to damage the connector.

Disable the power limit settings. You need to go to "Settings" → "Battery" → "Power Saving mode" and turn it off.

Update the software. You need to make sure that the latest version of iOS is installed on your device.

Hello!

What are the specs of the wireless charger? I also have a wireless charger, a cheap dollar store one, and it’s simply too weak to charge my 16. I imagine this is what might be happening to you?

When I put my device on this charger, the green charging indicator will light up just like you say, but the battery percentage will not increase. Same exact thing with some cheap dollar store adapters I have.

Can you try using a +=20W adapter, and see if the problem persists? Thanks.

Never use compressed air to attempt to clean the charging port on an iPhone. Apple specifically recommends never to do so as it can actually cause any debris in the charging port to become more impacted. And if you actually read the opening post, they aren't using a plug to charge their iPhone. They are using a MagSafe charger.
