I found a program called "cfprefsd" in task manager. What is it?

I was checking task manager because I was using 11/16g of ram and I found a program titled "cfprefsd". I was just wondering if it was safe?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.5

I am not sure what is your "task manger"...(?)

Non-the -less it is part of the macOS yes, working as expected

cfprefsd is a daemon (background process) in macOS that manages preference files for the operating system and applications.

On my Intel machine with all Ai off— you still see the process:

you can see it as well from the Finder, copy and paste:

/usr/sbin/cfprefsd
