Blurry images issue with Image Capture on Mac mini running macOS Sequoia

Hi den.thed.

I just got my first Mac mini on Friday (after my 2010 iMac crashed and burned earlier this year).

I have spent the weekend trying to learn it, I am not a happy camper, so far.

Even though the EPSON site says that my V500 driver is still compatible with OS 15.xxxxxx AND it was "successfully" downloaded - - - it wasn't.

I had to settle for Image Capture and I am not happy with its function ... and I find it is blurry from both the preview and final scan. Did you or anybody else, following this thread, have the same experience ?

Also tried my wife's 2 year old scanner, with the same result, doesn't recognize it's driver either.

Regards.

Hi, I stated by asking the question about Epson Scanner not working with Sequoia... I did all the things you have tried the only solution I have come up with, as suggested by others, is to purchase View Scan for about $50. I guess it is better than spending $1,600 to replace Epson's latest and greatest that does the same thing as my Perfection V600 does... it cost me $200 back in the day.

Going from a 2010 Mac mini running High Sierra to a new Mac mini running Sequoia is a giant leap.

If you have a specific question about software or hardware, please feel free to start a new post.

Sadly printer and scanner manufacture's are in the business of selling new hardware.

I've been using Image Capture for over 20 years and never had any trouble with blurry images.

In fact, Image capture is as good it not better than most manufactures scan ware.

What printer/scanner does your wife have.

macOS uses AirPrint and does not require drives for most newer printers.
