MacBook Pro rings for no reason
Every so often my MacBook will ring. I restart it and it still does it. The only way to stop it is I shut it down for about 5-10 minutes. Why does it ring for no reason?

I would suggest going through your notification settings. It is possible to have an app set to play a sound but not show any on screen message or badge on the icon.

What 'ring' do you mean? There are a variety of alerts on Macs. The example that 'ring' calls to mind is a phone call, and if you have an iPhone set up for it then you'll receive calls on your Mac.
i would be working on my laptop and all of a sudden just ring, however i don’t receive a phone call. it could be an alert. No alert pops up thought. it just rings. I keep thinking i have a virus or something.
