Phishing Scam

Just got the same text as many others (Note:don’t click the links):


”Apple Approval Notice




We have noticed that your Apple iCloud id was recently used at "APPLE STORE - CA" for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some suspicious sign in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain the security and privacy of your account we have placed those request on hold. Your Photos, Data, Bank Information and Cards are at risk. If NOT you? talk to an Apple Representative. Failing may lead to auto debit and charge will not be reversed. Call +18*******


immediately to cancel this charge.

Not surprising. I still receive the FedEx/UPS package delivery scams for the last 8 years. They will continue as long as they are profitable to the scammers.


To prevent being a victim of any phishing scam, simply NEVER click a link or call a number in a message/email and provide personal information. Treat all communications as information only, and verification with any company, including Apple, is always possible with known contact information.
