Safari is not included in 'Downtime' on my MacBook Pro

setting up my kids Macs,

safari is excluded from 'downtime' ? why ?

yes there are app time limits, but that won't stop my kid jumping on at 8pm and doomscrolling YouTube for 8hours (if that's what you set the time amount for).

Am I missing something here ?

My solution -

set time limit for safari to 0' seconds.

Use chrome as the default browser, as z will be subjected to "Downtime', although you'll need to create a gmail account with family link, to setup parental controls on chrome, then signin to chrome on the Mac.

silly by apple, but it works.
