Incorrect time 2014 MB Pro login screen

When opening the lid of my MB Pro 2014 running Big Sur, the time in the upper right corner is incorrect if the mac lid is closed and the mac is idle for a while (haven't figured out how long the "while" is yet).

However if I then login to my account the time is correct.

I safe booted yesterday with no change.

I just reset the NVRAM and SMC, closed the lid and will check back in a few hours to see the results.

Just wondering if there are any other suggestions out there?

Many thanks

Date and time issues...

from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

this will remove the corrupt plist.

(note—your psswd will not echo on screen type it in anyway, use the enter\return key to proceed. Quit Terminal.)

Reboot and compare your results.

The current stable release of Big Sur including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 11.7.10
