Microphone issue on iphone 15 promax

Hi everyone

I’m experiencing a strange issue with the microphone on my iPhone 15 Pro Max (model ZAA, running iOS 18.5).

When I record voice notes (in apps like Voice Memos, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, etc.), the sound is very quiet, unclear, or even distorted. But when I record a video with the camera app or make a voice/audio call (including WhatsApp calls), the microphone works perfectly fine — loud and clear.

I also tested using wired earphones and voice recording is fine with that, so the apps themselves are working.

I tried a full settings reset, but the issue with voice recordings remains.

It feels like the phone is using the wrong microphone for voice messages or the bottom mic has an issue detecting low-volume voice, but still picks up louder sounds like blowing air.
