Cannot add Applications to an Empty Dock on iPad.

The Dock turns small before I try add the App and when I do, the App merely returns to it’s previous position on the grid.

iPad Pro: App Dock hidden after iPadOS update I have an iPad Pro 10.5 and recently updated the IPadOS to 17.7.10. I also changed my Lock screen and Background photos. Now the App Dock at the bottom of the screen remains hidden, unless I swipe up to reveal it. And I cannot drag any new apps to the Dock, because it keeps disappearing. I'm not sure if something I did caused this, or it's a glitch in the iPadOS that I upgraded to. If someone has any ideas on how to remedy this, please let me know. Thanks! RayK

iOS 18.1 update now apps won’t move to my dock After the iOS 18.1 update, only 1 app was left in my dock. When I try to add the missing 3 they just bounce out. How do i resolve this?

Icon not staying in dock on iPad When trying to move icon to dock , yes it wiggles and the- minus sign is there, but the icon will not stay in dock. Any Solutions? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

When adding Apps to the iPad dock, drag the each App to the left of the dock divider. You cannot add Apps to the right - as this area is used by the iPad to show the most recently used Apps and the App Library.
