How do I stop my iPad from mirroring my iPhone?

I have a new iPad and it mirrored my iPhone which I don’t want. Can I delete or remove messages, contacts from iPad but still have those show only on my iPhone? Basically want to just add apps to iPad.

As both your iPad and iPhone are signed-in to iCloud with the same Apple Account (AppleID), you can enable or disable services and Apps that you would like to synchronise between your devices from settings.

While maintaining the benefits of synchronising your iPhone with iCloud, you can disable the services and Apps that don't wish to synchronise with your iPad from iPad settings:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud - disable (or enable) as required
