How can I sign into Apple Account without two-factor authentication?

Hi

I'm on 8 Plus and the phone is old so in the future if it gets bricked, how do I sign into my account without the 2 factor trusted device? (In this situation it would be my dead phone)

Add a trusted number or two, or three.

To see how to get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication' click here --> Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support

If you have a trusted device running iOS 9 and later, OS X El Capitan and later, iPadOS 13 and later, or watchOS 6 and later, the verification code is displayed automatically on your trusted devices (do you have any other apple hardware signed into your account?)

- Use a Trusted Device: Mac, iPhone, iPad, Watch. Code is either generated automatically or manually using Settings on the Trusted Device.

- Text or phone call to a trusted telephone number (any telephone; even landlines).

- Get a code from an Account Recovery Contact --> Set up an account recovery contact - Apple Support

Re: “… Add a trusted number or two, or three … “

… Or more !

Add as many as needed to provide reasonably assured access in the worst possible situation. (e.g. Fire, Earthquakes, Regional weather events)

They don’t have to be your lines. Relatives living in other regions are good prospects.

e.g. “Hello Sis, you’re going to receive a text from Apple shortly. When it arrives, read me the 6-digits.”
