1. Open the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
2. Tap the Items tab to view your AirTags.
3. Select the AirTag you want to rename and scroll down to Rename Item.
4. You’ll see a list of suggested names (e.g., Backpack, Keys, Wallet). To use a custom name, scroll down and tap Custom Name.
5. Important: If “Done” stays grayed out, make sure to tap the emoji icon first, then type your custom name. Once you’ve chosen an emoji and entered a name, Done becomes active.
6. Tap Done to save your changes.
