An old HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update package from Apple appears to have contained an HP LaserJet M1005 1.6.1 driver. However, this download has a macOS 12 limitation, and the installation may not work with

the latest macOS versions. Various modifications have been suggested (try a community search for models such as the P1005), but the success rate seems to be somewhat unclear.

If a compatible HP driver for macOS 15 cannot be found, you may have to look for a workaround.

An HP LaserJet m1005 Multifunction Printer is listed in https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index.

One idea could possibly be to try to make a USB printer act in an AirPrint-like way (thus no need for additional Mac drivers) via a small and relatively inexpensive Linux-based Raspberry Pi print server and CUPS. This would be experimental, though. See also, for example, the posts by Techguyuk in Can’t print with iPadOS17 - Apple Community. Tesserax reported about using a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ for an old HP LaserJet printer in Can I connect my laser printer to my netw… - Apple Community.
