MacBook Pro M4 audio out port cuts out, requires restart to reset

I think it started after one of the recent updates. Audio switches to internal speakers and the audio out option on Sound is absent. Comes back after restart.

Could be flaky third-party audio software or... a faulty micro switch inside the headphone output port.

The best test for flaky third-party audio software, is to uninstall any and all third-party audio software.

The best test for a fault micro switch, is to try different set of headphones or take the Mac in for service.
