In addition to what Kurtosis12 suggested, if you don't live in Costa Rica, the phone won't have warranty in another country and you can't add an AppleCare+ plan on a phone purchased outside your country. You should ONLY buy from Apple or an Apple Authorized Seller IN the country you live and will use the phone.

Not if the store you buy it from is not an authorized Apple reseller. If the two stores you mention don't offer AplleCare+, then they are not authorized resellers.
