iPhone Battery Health 100% to 94% after 8 months of use

It's been 8 months since I bought my iPhone 13, and my battery health has dropped from 100% to 94%. Is this something I should be concerned about?

iPhone 13, iOS 18

Unfortunately, the iPhone 13 does not display Charge Cycles when you check the battery settings. You would have to install a 3rd party battery app to view Charge Cycle information.

But, you can come reasonably close to Charge Cycle info by realizing that the Battery Health will decline....on average....at about 1% a month. But, that's an average. Some months, the battery might not decline at all and then it might drop 2% the following month. Nothing to be concerned about.

The battery in the iPhone 13 should go about 2 years before it will need to be replaced, but that timing may move up or back depending on a number of factors. Your battery will definitely go more than 2 years at its current rate.

Your battery is doing better than average. Normally, it would be at around 92% after 8 months.

All that you really need to do is replace the battery when it is down to 80% Maximum Capacity. Don't try to babysit the battery.....it is going to do what it is going to do.

No, you shouldn't be concerned. Open Settings > Battery > Battery Health and for an iPhone 13, it would be normal to see about a 1% drop for every 25 cycles. Based on that, your cycle count will likely be in the 150 range or higher. And if it is, you have nothing at all to be concerned about. Battery health goes in one direction only and that is down. With every full cycle charge the battery will degrade a little. When the battery health dips to 80%, which it will at some point, it will then be time to pay Apple to replace the battery.

I’m going to agree with lobsterghost1 here because your iPhone 13 is no longer in production and several years old.

All rechargeable batteries are consumable components that become less effective as they chemically age.

Recent software updates can accelerate that process by adding features that consume more power.

As lithium-ion batteries chemically age, the amount of charge they can hold diminishes, resulting in shorter amounts of time before a device needs to be recharged.

Li Ion (Lithium Ion) batteries have recharging capabilities; however there are limits.

Temperature Effects on Li *** Battery Life:

  • Capacity loss in standby applications is largely determined by temperature
  • Annual capacity loss tends to decline as the battery ages
  • 80% remaining capacity is generally not the end of a lithium battery's useful life, but recommended by Apple for replacement

I recommend to slow charge your iPhone to maximize the charge capacity, battery health and efficiency. ⚡️🔋

NOTE:
Temperature: Charge above -30°C and Discharge below 55°C

Apple won’t replace the battery until it reaches 80% capacity.
