MacBook Pro (2021) keeps activating screensaver every few minutes, even while I'm using it

I’ve already checked and adjusted the settings in System Preferences > Displays > Screensaver, and I’ve also disabled any sleep timers under Battery settings. I even tried booting into Safe Mode, but the issue still persists.

Please let me know a proper solution! 🙏

Thank youuu :)

I appreciate the tip – I just checked my Hot Corners settings, and none of them are configured to trigger the screensaver.

Unfortunately, the issue still persists even with everything seemingly disabled :(

seems odd yes—

you do not say if this is an old issue or a new issue or what changed?

if the safe boot did not sort it, you can trouble shoot further or I would simply try reinstalling the macOS on top of your existing macOS ( user data is left untouched.) and compare eyour results

see your options here:  How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support

verify you used the exact keys called for to do the safe boot

—A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

I would Login and test. Reboot  as normal and test.  Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

***wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries— connect the charging cable, this will make the wired keyboard successful Safe Boot your Mac.

unplug all non-essential  peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

>System Settings>Lock Screen make changes here

verify you have no hot corners setup to activate your screen saver...(?)

Thanks a lot for your detailed response!

The issue only started about 3 days ago - before that, everything was working normally.

I did perform a Safe Boot but unfortunately, the problem persisted even in Safe Mode.

I’m not running any cleaning, VPN, or antivirus tools. At this point, it doesn’t seem to be caused by third-party software.

I'll reinstall macOS on top of the current installation soon, as you recommended.

Thanks again - I really appreciate your support! 🤝😄
