Why is it my apps do not automatically update when am using Wi-Fi or mobile data. Every app that needs an update requires me to go to App Store to update it and this is hectic

have you checked your settings
To automatically update apps on your iPhone, navigate to Settings > App Store and ensure App Updates is toggled on under Automatic Downloads.
