when will the next software update come out

You have posted to a user-to-user site. We are all users here.....just like you.

I'm sorry, but no one here would have any reliable information about when the next iOS update might appear....and Apple is not telling.

When any update is available, your iPhone will let you know.

Apple has not promised anything for iOS 26 beyond "this fall". However, a quick glance at the list in MacTracker shows that iOS 6 through 18 all came out in September.

26 will be out sometime this fall(the spring in the Southern Hemisphere). Aside from this, nobody on these boards can say.
