Thanks for confirming. Have you tried using the Finder to perform the DFU Firmware Restore instead of Apple Configurator?
Have you tried rebooting the host Mac?
Have you tried using other USB-C ports on the host Mac, preferably on the other side of the laptop just in case the USB-C port is bad (or partially bad)?
And a standard MacBook cable, which came with it.
Just to confirm that this OEM Apple cable has no icons or writing on the USB-C connectors? If there are any icons or writing on the connectors, then it is not a USB only Apple OEM cable.
I gave the MacBook to the service center, they said that the board was alive, they did not find any problems with the hardware. The Mac worked fine all the time, until I decided to install Sequoia.
What were the symptoms after you installed Sequoia?
Was this "service center" an Apple Authorized Service Provider?
Did they examine this computer before or after your upgrade to Sequoia?
At what point did the DFU Restore fail? There are four steps involved. Did the software download successfully and was it pushing the software to the "broken" Mac when it failed? Have you tried it multiple times just to be sure? And did you power down the "broken" Mac & reboot the host Mac....plus put the "broken" Mac back into DFU Mode?
If the host Mac is an M-series Mac, then try booting the host Mac into Safe Mode to see if you can finish the DFU Restore. Perhaps you have some third party software installed which is interfering with the practice. Unfortunately Safe Mode on an Intel Mac may not allow external connections.
If the host Mac is an M-series laptop, then perhaps change the Privacy & Security System Setting for "Allow external devices to connect" to "Always when unlocked", or perhaps temporarily to "Always" if your sleep settings are aggressive. The latter is a security risk if left set to "Always".
If your Mac asks you to allow an accessory to connect - Apple Support
Just curious if you can access the Startup Options screen on the "broken" Mac?
