The sad reality is most stolen phones are never recovered. Thieves are smart and they usually put them in Faraday Bags, making it impossible to track them. Then they're often sent to another country, where they may try to trick you into giving up your Apple Account password, by sending you a message your phone has been found and all you need to do to prove it's your phone is enter your password. DON'T fall for this scam. Apple never sends out emails about lost or stolen devices, nor do they get involved in any way.
