My experience says this is purely caused by some third-party app that you may have installed.

Store the device where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave the device in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.

Use iOS devices where the ambient temperature is between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Low- or high-temperature conditions might cause the device to change its behavior to regulate its temperature. Using an iOS device in very cold conditions outside of its operating range might temporarily shorten battery life and could cause the device to turn off. Battery life will return to normal when you bring the device back to higher ambient temperatures. Using an iOS device in very hot conditions can permanently shorten battery life.

Room temperature would only play a role if it was using in direct sunlight, or in an arid climate.

Hmm do you think it's worth trying completely deleting Instagram first and see if it still heats that much before complety resetting?

8GB of System Data Being of Issue:

Only if the storage capacity is close to 100$ full. Elsewise no. I’m always keeping my Storage Capacity at 60% Max. You should consider the same.

Thank you. I am using 64gb out of 128gb. I have the same issue with that person on this post but i have iPhone 15.

Either one of the following two should be the problem.

My first guess is that Instagram might be causing that cause it is 17GB storage, but my phone doesn't only heat on Instagram but on tt too. I've also tried having Instagram completely closed and background activity turned off but my phone still heated a lot. So i think it's not instagram the problem.

My other guess is room temperature but it isn't too high. It's around 33o outside so inside it should be around 28 i guess.

I don't know, can you help me?
