for those of you saying what i believe then why have several sites stated this:
Apple is expected to roll out iOS 18.5.1 on or around May 26 or 27, adhering to its well-established update schedule. If you rely on your iPhone for daily tasks, this update could be particularly important for resolving persistent issues that may be affecting your device. To ensure you don’t miss the release, allowing automatic updates is a practical step. By activating this feature, your device will automatically download and install the update as soon as it becomes available, eliminating the need for manual intervention and making sure your iPhone stays up-to-date.
You can find all sorts of incorrect statements on the internet. Clearly wherever you found this on whichever site, was completely misinformed. It is now July 27th and the current iOS version is 18.5. There was never an iOS 18.5.1 update and we can't comment about iOS updates yet to come. But we can guess there won't be an 18.5.1 coming at all.

Rule #1 - Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
There is no Apple website that makes that claim, so for any other source, it is purely speculation not coming from Apple. You also cannot trust AI results as you will find that many times the information provided is totally made up. That is all the more reason to check your sources and be cautious on what information can be trusted if you are unable to fact check it.
There is no 18.5.1 version, 18.5 is the latest.
You won´t see iOS 18.5.1 because Apple, for whatever reason, has simply skipped it. There has just been a release of iOS 18.6 RC for developers, and the public release of iOS 18.6 is expected shortly, maybe even next week. So nothing to worry about! Cheers!
Dot updates only happen if needed, which typically are to address any bugs or vulnerabilities. They aren’t guaranteed compared to larger updates and in this case it hasn’t happened.
Not released yet.
Why do you assume it should be?
Apple has not said iOS 18.5.1 would be released at any specific point in time, to my knowledge.
Any dates mentioned anywhere online or elsewhere are merely speculation and should always be taken with a big grain of salt.

? hello— You can not believe everything you read on the Internet.
Hard to go wrong from your Settings>General>Software Update
It has not be released yet. My phone still shows 18.5 as "up to date."

Why don't you ask them?
There were clearly wrong. Perhaps you should avoid sites that spread bad information.

Apple does not publish release dates for updates. Any such dates found in other websites are rumors at best, and click bait at worse. Mere speculation, and should be taken with a big grain of salt.
iOS 18.6 update came out but it doesn't really fix the CarPlay issues will be asking the car dealership if the they have new car software updates the usb port still doesn't recognize my phone no matter how many usb cords i try including the original one that came with the phone. My iPhone does bluetooth to the car and i can still charge it using the charger that goes into the cigarette lighter

Have you tried the suggestions in this support article --> If you need help with CarPlay - Apple Support
If none of the selections of cables seem to be working for you and you make the statement you can use a cigarette lighter for charging and not the USB port, makes one wonder if there is a problem with the USB port. I suggest having the dealer check into that. I have two vehicles, one wireless CarPlay and one cabled. Neither are experiencing any problems with iOS 18.6.
Well didn't like the news i got from the dealership the USB port is bad and it will cost way too much to fix this is saddening for me. Car is almost paid off and i'm going to be stuck with no way to do CarPlay! just charging my phone through the cigarette lighter and using the bluetooth!
