for those of you saying what i believe then why have several sites stated this:
Apple is expected to roll out iOS 18.5.1 on or around May 26 or 27, adhering to its well-established update schedule. If you rely on your iPhone for daily tasks, this update could be particularly important for resolving persistent issues that may be affecting your device. To ensure you don’t miss the release, allowing automatic updates is a practical step. By activating this feature, your device will automatically download and install the update as soon as it becomes available, eliminating the need for manual intervention and making sure your iPhone stays up-to-date.

You can find all sorts of incorrect statements on the internet. Clearly wherever you found this on whichever site, was completely misinformed. It is now July 27th and the current iOS version is 18.5. There was never an iOS 18.5.1 update and we can't comment about iOS updates yet to come. But we can guess there won't be an 18.5.1 coming at all.

Rule #1 - Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

There is no Apple website that makes that claim, so for any other source, it is purely speculation not coming from Apple. You also cannot trust AI results as you will find that many times the information provided is totally made up. That is all the more reason to check your sources and be cautious on what information can be trusted if you are unable to fact check it.

If none of the selections of cables seem to be working for you and you make the statement you can use a cigarette lighter for charging and not the USB port, makes one wonder if there is a problem with the USB port. I suggest having the dealer check into that. I have two vehicles, one wireless CarPlay and one cabled. Neither are experiencing any problems with iOS 18.6.
