iPhone 13 Stuck in Boot Loop, Restore/Update Option Available

Hey everyone, my iPhone 13 was completely shut off after I dropped it down the stairs 2 years ago. At that moment, I tried turning it back on and ever since then it never got past the Apple Logo screen. Whenever I plug it into a charging cable it enters into a boot loop and recently after I stumbled upon it again I decided to try plugging it in again it displayed a screen that read If the Restore screen appears on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support with a computer and lightning cable beneath it.

I would really like to restore the files on this device and transfer them to my current iPhone. Would I be able to do so on iTunes without having backed it up on a computer/icloud before? It currently gives me the option to update or restore and I would like to avoid any errors in the update process which may put my data at risk.

Thank you!

No, not if you want to preserve the data on the phone.

When you restore a phone without having a backup, the phone will be erased completely.

But.....you have the cart before the horse at this point.

First, the Boot Loop issue must be addressed, and that will involve hardware repairs at the Apple Store / Genius Bar or taking the phone to an authorized Apple service shop.

You can find a list of authorized Apple service shops in your area by using this link:

Depending on the nature of the hardware damage to the phone and cost of repairs, it may make more sense to buy a new phone rather than pay for extensive repairs to the phone.
