I've used older versions of X-Plane plus other sims, including doing beta testing, on Macs for 20+. Flight sims are among the most demanding things you can run and we can better advise you if you give us more details.
First 13-inch Macbook Pros have been around since 2009, and many do not have the horsepower to run a sim. so please do "About this Mac...: from your Apple menu to get this:

and tell us the year, its chip, and its memory.
X-Plane 12 sys reqs are here: https://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-12-system-requirements/
Of the Macbook Pros that can run Sequoia, the 13-inch Intel-powered 2018-2020 models have Intel integrated graphics, which X-Plane does not support.
Apple Silicon M-series that started in 2020 are listed as compatible but there are other considerations:
—Many M1 2020 Macbook Pros shipped with 256GB storage that may not be enough when you start adding airplane and scenery files.
— Many M1 2020 models have only 8GB RAM. 8GB is X-Plane's minumun RAM and we all know what "minimum" means to develpers.
— 13-inch Macbook Pros have but one cooling fan that may not be enough to deal with the significant heat that hi-end sims can produce. 14- 15- and 16-inch models have two fans. Still, the confined space inside many laptops makes heat the greatest enemy.
So before spending money, spend a little time and give us some addtional info so we can give other than a generic answer, which is all we can do at this point.
