can I use a magnetic phone holder with iphone 16

I am concerned about if a magnetic holder will affect the phone charger or any other electronics. A steel plate sticks on the back of the phone and a strong magnet holds it for use in my car.

iPhone 6s, iOS 15

Generally Safe for Use

  • Modern iPhones (12 and newer), including the iPhone 16, are designed with MagSafe technology, which uses built-in magnets for accessories and wireless charging.
  • Magnetic holders do not interfere with the phone’s core electronics, display, or battery under normal conditions.
  • Internal electronics like your CPU, RAM, and sensors are not affected by small magnets like those in car mounts. They’re well-shielded.
  • Wireless charging (Qi or MagSafe) works with magnets — but only if the magnet and steel plate are not placed in the charging area (center of the back).
  • Cellular, WiFi, and Bluetooth signals are radio-based and aren’t impacted by magnets.

Steel Plates: If you're using a non-MagSafe steel plate stuck to the back of your phone, it can:

  • Disrupt wireless charging by creating a barrier between the charger and the phone.
  • Cause overheating during charging due to poor heat dissipation.
