I am being asked to update Apple Account Settings

I have a new to me ipad that has been wiped and setup replicating my old ipad. On the Settings page of a new iPad it's asking to update Apple Account Settings. When I click this, it asks me to enter the password for an email address that is not mine, and was part of a business I worked at 10 years ago. That business and the email domain name no longer exists.

I tried searching my account for any reference to this email and can find nothing. How do I get rid of it?

You may have had an app on another device that dated from the days when you used a different Apple ID.

You may also have old information in your Contacts. That happened to me and I was puzzled by Apple using that when asking for updated information. I made sure all my information was updated and my compuyter then asked me for the password to the APple ID as it is now.

I only have one other device, that's the wife's old iPhone, wiped and set up with this Apple ID account and used for DJI drone display screen. It was set up 6 months ago.

I have never used an apple product as a main device and only have ever had the one Apple ID.

This device has a couple of apps and all just installed now as only just set it up. I have no contacts in either device as I have never used apple products for communications (been using Android since the first Samsung Galaxy)

And I don't even know the person whose email address it's asking for! I only recognise the company from the domain name. How do I just wipe it out?

I dont think you read my fault issue correctly.

The device was given to me by a friend and he wiped it from its previous accounts. This message is asking me to verify an email account from a business I worked at 10 years ago, it has nothing to do with this iPad or its previous owner, or me for that matter (I dont even know the person from the email account). The email domain its asking me to validate no longer exists as that company went bankrupt in 2017.
