AppleCare One: Signing in with Apple ID for family member's iPhone

I sign up for AppleCare one and added my wife phone, she on our family sharing and I got and email saying this >

A new Apple Account has signed in to your iPhone 14 Pro Max. To avoid losing AppleCare One coverage, you must sign in to the iPhone 14 Pro Max with the Apple Account associated with your AppleCare One plan.

I talk to a live customer service and I was told I have to log in with my Apple ID for her phone, is this true?

AppleCare - Apple

Can I add my family’s devices to my AppleCare One plan? (at the bottom)

AppleCare One plans can cover devices that are on the same Apple Account as the subscriber.

I don't see anything about an AppleCare One family plan. Apple doesn't like saying "no" in its documentation but that's basically what they are saying in the reply above unless your family's device is signed into your account which Apple strongly advises against.
