iPhone 15 and later models have a USB-C port and will require a different HDMI adapter than earlier iPhone models with Lightning connector. Could that be it?
Depending on the content that you are trying to stream, mirroring may not be supported for all apps. Some apps may block that. Could that be it? If you can mirror the iPhone home screen, but not app content, then this would be the reason.
