There is one item missing from the link @BobTheFisherman provided......another way of Right-clicking is by using Control + click (works with mouse or trackpad).

Also, make sure you always have frequent & regular backups if you value your data. With the newer Macs it is unlikely you will be able to recover any data from the internal SSD (even by a professional data recovery service) if something goes wrong. This is due to all of the hardware, software, and security changes.

Edit: If you have trouble using the Haptic Trackpad, then you may want to turn off the "Force Click & Haptic Feedback" option in the Trackpad System Settings. The Apple Haptic Trackpad take a lot of practice to manage the various click features. I've never been able to master it so I have trouble with click & dragging items.
