Unable to use previously generated email address from Hide My Email

Im writing an email using a new address generated by hide my email but was informed that I sent to the wrong department. They have provided me with the correct email and Im trying to use the same email address previously generated to they can trace my user id but I dont know how to do so. When I try to write the email, it generates a brand new email address and when I try to copy paste the previously used one it doesn't work either.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by tracing your User ID. If you are emailing a company about an account related question, they may be requiring that the email comes from the email address associated with your account and that would not be a Hide My Email address if the account is using a different email. A company would do this for verification purposes to prevent unauthorized communication from another party. The Hide My Email address will not disclose your Apple Account email if that is the one that the recipient is expecting.
