Brand new IPhone 16 Pro Max, only a week old started screen flickering, never dropped, brand new, have to get it replace now. Why is this happening?

Have you attempted to forcefully restart the device? If that proves ineffective, replacing it under warranty may be the most appropriate course of action. Although this appears to be a hardware issue, if the device is indeed brand new, it is simply unfortunate.

If you have purchased your iPhone directly from Apple, in most countries/regions you have 14-days within which you can unconditionally return an undamaged item for exchange or refund. If applicable - and you have any concerns whatsoever - you might be well advised to make use of the opportunity while it is available to you. Upon expiry of the 14-day period, any defects may be remedied under the standard warranty.
If purchased from an independent retailer, you would be best advised to seek assistance from the retailer - with the intention of exchanging a potentially faulty device under warranty.
