Is the 70W USB-C Power Adapter heavier than the 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter for MacBook Air 13?

I like the idea of getting the 70w power adapter for a new MBA 13", because it might be useful to be able to charge up quickly in an airport between flights. Some seats don't have power adapters.

However, based on Apple's photos of the two adapters, the 70w adapter seems a lot larger relative to the size of the wall plug.

My question: Is the 70w also a bit heavier than the 35w adapter?

The power adapter would be one of many things that I'd stuff into a bag that I carry through airports on my shoulder. Extra weight in the bag adds up, and can make it more uncomfortable to carry.

35 W dual – 104 g

70 W - 165 g

That is no longer the case. On recent models of many devices, Apple has incorporated the ability to ‘fast charge’ with a sufficiently powerful source.

MacBook Air models starting in 2022 have the capability to fast charge. The 70 W adapter will fast charge the MBA, the 35 W adapter will not.

Interesting. I had just figured out how to ask a person (I think) in support chat for the weights. They gave me 240g for the 70w, and 170g for the 35w.

But that person didn't weigh the units, so I trust your answer instead of theirs.

Maybe the weights the support person gave included packaging.

I presume those are shipping weights. My kitchen scale may be a gram or two off, but it's not that inaccurate.
