Display failed after updating to iOS 18.5

I updated my iPhone to the new iOS 18.5, which was previously version 18.0.1. After the update, the screen touch stopped working and no longer responds to touch. Is there a way to get the signed version of the 18.0.1 firmware from the company?

Sorry, no, downgrading the operating system is not supported.

Try a forced restart.

• Press and quickly release the volume up button

• Press and quickly release the volume down button

• Press and hold the side button.

• When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If that doesn't work, make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have it diagnosed.

iOS 18.5 is not really new. It was introduced a few months ago. What is new is iOS 18.6 which was introduced a few days ago on July 29.

Sorry, but it would not be possible to go back to go back to iOS 18.0.1, or any other version prior to iOS 18.5.

If a Forced Restart does not help, make an appointment at the Apple Store / Genius Bar or take the phone to an authorized Apple service shop to have the screen issue addressed.

You can find a list of authorized service locations in your area using this link: Find Locations

Good luck

The current version of the iPhone Operating System (iOS) is 18.6 (available now).

However, if this unfortunate situation was caused by the operating system, then everyone (including myself) would have the same symptoms.

You have described a possible hardware failure that occurred just after a software update.

While this is unfortunate, it is not uncommon.

However, only an Apple Genius can review the cause and provide a complete solution.

Therefore, I recommend service.
