Display error w Standby on iPhone SE3 iOS 18.5

Mom & I have same models. I set Standby on hers with a 2 Widget screen; clock & local weather. It works fine (I get that SE3 doesn’t do always on. The display goes dark after 15 secs & touch relights it.That’s perfect on the nightstand.)

I set mine up the same way and it briefly showed the desired display but then defaulted to a weird lock screen, which shows time always 10:10 and no weather data. Just this:

Any clues how to fix this?

I’ve tried cycling through the other screens and widgets, and turning standby off/on and resetting, but it will not display what I want. Why hers works and mine doesn’t is very puzzling.

Try a Force Restart. Force restart iPhone - Apple Support See if that fixes it. Also, take the time to update to iOS 18.6, there a number of bug fixes and security updates contained.

Double-check the following:

iPhone is charging (MagSafe or Lightning—doesn’t matter).
Landscape mode (horizontal), not tilted.
Stationary, not being held or slightly tilted (this matters more than you’d expect).
Low ambient light helps trigger the dim mode correctly, although it is not required to activate StandBy.

All that was done on both phones before I posted the Q. (Well, I chose to leave the ‘tap on preview’ off but tried it the other way since you suggested it — no change.)

I took my screenshot while plugged in and charging/ on the stand/ in landscape.

Mine very briefly shows the 2 widget screen when I plug it in on the stand, then fades to that screenshot before going black. When I tap to see time & weather again, it just shows that odd screen. if I tap and hold, it will let me scroll through the widgets or the other options but will NOT display the settings I select once back on the stand.

It’s just weird!
