Unable to send scanned documents as PDF via Notes app

I want to send the scanned documents from Notes to someone’s email however it doesn’t attach the file as PDF but sharing my note instead.

How are you attaching the note to the email exactly?

Using the share icon in the Notes App and selecting the Email app should create a new email with the complete note including all PDFs inside as PDFs and whatever text the note has.

Is that not what is happening?
