Unexpected $169.98 charge on my Apple Account

Is this charge on your Apple Account, which can only be used to purchase Apple products or services? Or is the charge showing up on your Apple Card credit card or another credit card or bank statement.

On the other hand if you received an email advising you of the charge it’s quite possibly a scam, especially if the email asks you to contact Apple or provides a link to click. Apple doesn’t do that ever.

As lkrupp suggested, this is phishing. Others have reported receiving a similar message.

Presumably you did not actually see this charge, but you were told it’s there.

We have no access to your Apple Account, or your billing and subscription information.

Apple may or may not read postings around here, and only very rarely replies.

There are lots of spam messages and mail messages all phishing for credentials. Verify any messages or mail, and without using any links in those messages or mail.

I am here assuming this billing is related to your Apple Account (formerly known as an Apple ID), and not your Apple Card, and not other payment card used with Apple Pay.
