AirPods 4 ANC Assembled in Vietnam — Anyone Got China-Assembled Units?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought the new AirPods 4 ANC through Apple Store online in Malaysia. I was surprised to find that mine are assembled in Vietnam.

I already knew that units sold at the TRX Apple Store in KL are mostly Vietnam-assembled. But I assumed that ordering online — especially since it ships from Singapore — would mean getting a China-assembled unit. Turns out, it’s still Vietnam.

Just wondering:

  • Has anyone received a China-assembled AirPods 4 from Apple Store online recently?
  • Is there any difference in quality or performance between Vietnam and China assembly?
  • Is Apple shifting most AirPods production to Vietnam now?

I’m not saying Vietnam-assembled units are bad — just curious about the trend and whether anyone has noticed differences between the two.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hi Chattanoogan,

Thanks for your reply! I totally agree that Apple maintains very high manufacturing standards across all locations.

Just to clarify — I’m not suggesting there’s a major quality issue. I’m simply trying to understand if there are any subtle differences in real-world usage between Vietnam-assembled and China-assembled AirPods 4 ANC units. For example, things like ANC strength, sound tuning, or build feel. I know these might be hard to quantify, but I’ve seen some users mention slight differences and wanted to explore that further.

Appreciate your input!
