iPhone 7 not updating to iOS 16.0.1

An iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or iPhone SE 1 isn't capable of 16 or above; they require an A11 or better CPU.

The people on these boards are mostly other customers and don't have any control over which updates Apple releases for what models.

The iPhone 7 originally ran iOS 10, and you can update it to the latest release of iOS 15. That is the end of the line for the iPhone 7. You cannot update it to iOS 16 or higher.

Sorry, but this is not possible.

You need an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X to run iOS 16, but it would be better to buy a new iPhone 15 or iPhone 16.
