Wi-Fi connection issues with Canon Air printers

My Canon air printer suddenly stopped working through the Wi-Fi system. The printer itself is working, i.e. copying et cetera. I deleted the printer and then reconnected using a cable. My second air printer then failed to connect to the Wi-Fi. I wonder if there is some coding left in the system after I deleted the printer which would be blocking Wi-Fi connection. If so how would I delete that so that I can start from scratch to connect the printers?

Sounds like the USB connection is messing with or blocking Wi-Fi AirPrint.

If Canon does not supply updated macOS USB drivers then USB will not work.

If the Printer(s) are still connected to your local Wi-Fi network..?

Unplug the unsupported USB cable and reset the Mac's Printing System

What model of Canon printer do you have? Each will have their own method to connect to your WiFi network. In most cases that is done right on your printer by selecting your WiFi network and entering the Password.

If it is AirPrint compatible, you don't need to install any drivers and when adding the printer on your Mac, you choose the AirPrint/Bonjour option instead of a Canon Printer driver.
