My MacBook Air M2 and Xiaomi A24i monitor appear to be incompatible.

My MacBook Air M2 recognises the Xiaomi A24i monitor when connected by HDMI but the monitor shows "The resolution you entered isn't supported. Set the resolution and refresh rate according to your monitor's specifications." What can I do??

Xiaomi Monitor A24i

This is a 23.8" monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080, and a refresh rate of up to 100 Hz. It has a DisplayPort v1.4 port and a HDMI port.

Are you running the monitor in mirror mode or in extended desktop mode? If you were running in mirror mode, I'd wonder if maybe that was forcing some "compromise" resolution (between the internal screen and the A24i) that the A24i didn't like.
